Synopsis: The Book of Destiny is broken, and the Challs broke it.

The latest episode in the Challenger’s never-ending adventures begins on a far-distant planet where they’ve never even set foot.

The Book of Destiny, it seems, has fallen into the wrong hands.  (The Brave and the Bold, 2007, issues 1-3.)  Gamblers are using it on the Luck Lords planet to score.  (Talk about thinking small.)

Batman, Blue Beetle, Green Lantern, and Supergirl have been trying to find the book.  Lobo, best tracker in the galaxy, brings S-Girl to meet the Keeper or Guardian of the Book of Destiny.  Or maybe his name is Destiny.

He’s not well.  “I have been [the Book’s] guardian, its solitary reader, since the dawn of time...  Its pages... chronicle all that has ever been or ever will be...  Or so I had all my days believed...”

“... Until I came to The Men Who Were Not There.”

Challengers of the Unknown in Brave and the Bold 4

As the illo shows, the “MWWNT” are our boys, the Challengers - disappearing from a page of history.  Note June remained behind.  Is there a reason?

The illustration is from a Multi-Man adventure.
(COTU 24).

“It was impossible.  No beings may step outside the book, and yet... four had...  To my horror, as I searched the book for answers, it became evident that their omission had grave consequences.  Pages were being sporadically rewritten as these men continued to influence events around them, changing fact into fiction.  Warping reality.  Corrupting destiny.”

Go, guys!

“The book was no longer safe with me, nor I with it...  In my final moment of clarity, I realized the same me who were destroying it could repair it.”

So the Keeper broke the chain on his wrist, and set the book free(?) to be found by - the Challengers, so they could fix it, and all of reality.

Where will they be found?  Can they fix the Book of Destiny?  Do they want to?  Stay tuned.
