Challenger Headquarters

Challenger Mountain I
High Tech Hideaway

We get our first diagram of Challenger Mountain courtesy of Multi-Man.

The villain sows robot insects with cameras who photograph in insides.  MM compiles a map from photographs (COTU 40).

The place has, among other features, an Olympic-sized pool. Lois Lane took an early tour. She expected "a barracks" and was impressed. Rocky notes the place was designed by "a reclusive genius named Kurtzburg, mad as a hatter". (That would be Jack KIRBY.) (New Frontier 5)

Challengers' Olympic Pool

The pool and mountains were seen again when
The Big Three - Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman - were excluded from the Justice League Detroit, so used Challenger Mountain for their yearly confab (JLA 0). Note the hosts kindly left them in peace.

<>A glimpse of Prof's lab, which Rocky calls "The Shop". (New Frontier 5).

The mountain includes a projection room for news broadcasts. Likely it doubles as a home theater (Super-Team Family 10).

Parts of the mountain are TOO practical.  The dining area is sterile, but at least there's a tablecloth.  The Challengers leave the radio on, so it's likely a lot of meals get interrupted (COTU 29).

Who cooked that scrumptious pie?

Challenger Mountain is equipped with millions of dollars' worth of high-tech equipment - but doesn't have an answering machine, it seems. Ambush Bug called around the DC Universe looking for help at Christmas time, and found the Challs had all split for the holidays.

Heck, even Swamp Thing has an answering machine.

Boom.
