The B-Team Challengers run business out of their "posh West Coast offices" where "obviously no expense was spared!" According to Nina Justis, a self-proclaimed expose writer who tries to crack the new Challs' secrets (COTU V3 4.). The door has a snazzy logo. On the walls are posters of the original and new Challs. An hourglass sits on a cabinet. And there are the inevitable ficus tree and other scraggly plants. Mostly, it's just an office, surprisingly plain for such an exotic group.  Sarah Hargate is the Chall's business manager. As Nina bursts in, Sarah says, "I WISH Mr. Sands would let me keep that door locked." Mr. Sands is the financier of the B Team. Rocky consults with him off and on. Sarah lists her chores. Maintain the website. Sort and reference emails. Pay bills. Oversee contracts for proposals. Arrange public appearances. Schedule appointments. Sarah has an MBA from Harvard and a law degree from the University of Chicago. (COTU V3 4.) She will admit, though, that sometimes she "hasn't a clue when they'll be back." in a while to check the mail... |
The
team sometimes meets at the California estate of Mister Sands, their
sponsor and benefactor. Sands founded the new Challs with Rocky
Davis's permission, and he pays the bills.  Later we learned Sands was also touched by the light during World War II, so investigating the unknown - or funding investigations - is a long-term project.
