History

The Sons - and Daughter - of the Challengers

In the far distant future of 1989, the "Sons of the Challengers" (COTU 35) fight fish-men raiding the city, and track them to their underwater lair. This may be an imaginary tale.

The Sons of the Challengers hunt "The Phantom of the Fair!" (COTU 39). The World's Fair of 1990, that is. May be imaginary.

Challengers of Middle Age

In the far distant future of 1989, the Challengers have aged well - at least in this glimpse seen in Madame Zaddum's crystal ball. According to the story, the Challs retired "twenty years ago", which would be 1969?

Challengers of the Showcase

In "There Shall Come a Gathering" (Showcase 100), the Challs worked with everyone who ever appeared in Showcase to save the world. Especially they helped Lois Lane get inside a big dangerous machine. This is a just-for-fun story that never happened.

Our guys are hanging in the middle zero.

Challengers of the Third Reich

In the DC Challenge, other-world Challs are Nazi "super soldiers" with masks, swastika armbands, and jet-sleds.

Challengers of the Conjurors

In Conjurors, a blend of old-new Challengers help keep magic from extinguishing.

Challengers of the Bizarros

The goofy Bizarro Comics shows us "The Unknown Challenges of the Challengers of the Unknown!"

Challengers of the Super Seven

The Horde of lizard-aliens invades Earth and clobbers or sends into hiding all superheroes. Lex Luthor II offers Rocky Davis as a "volunteer" for a gruesome and public display. This demonstration is a trap for Earth's non-superheroes to stage a raid. Selina Kyle, Dick Grayson, Ace Morgan and others descend from Blackhawk stealth jets. All the good guys get killed, and there are no more rebel attacks.

Challengers of the Fantastic

In the Amalgam title Challengers of the Fantastic, the heroes are Sue "Ace" Storm, fearless SHIELD agent; Reed "Prof" Richards, dynamic science genius; Johnny "Red" Storm, daredevil youth; and Ben "Rocky" Grimm, two-fisted senator. Although there are elements of both, this story is way more Fantastic Four than Challengers. (Challengers of the Fantastic 1). Their old nemeses are the Challenger Haters of Evil, defeated before the book starts.

Challengers of Earth 14

In one speculation, the Challengers of Earth 14 were changed into girls by "Element Pink".

Challengers as girls in uniform

That's all for now, but stay tuned! The Challengers pop up everywhere sooner or later!
